Cressida Ford

Cressida cut her teeth in radio as a teenager, with a summer at Dales commercial station Fresh Radio working as a researcher and news broadcaster. It was around the same time that the seeds of interest in folk, sown in childhood by her parents' devotion to Fairport Convention, began to germinate, and by the time she attended university to study Drama she was a full-blown folkie (read: Weirdo). Folk duo Show of Hands' concert lighting was the subject of her technical theatrecrafts coursework, while her final-year dissertation focused, to the baffled consternation of the entire faculty, on the history of Morris dancing.

Her taste in music has since broadened to include rock, prog, indie, pop - as long as it's well-crafted, well-played, and well-written, she'll have it, thanks! In 2019 she was delighted to be asked to host the Almost Acoustic Show on Radio Scarborough, bringing the best in acoustic, folk and roots-flavoured music to the Scarborough area.
